House Speaker Paul Ryan will be in New Jersey on Wednesday to stump for Reps. Tom MacArthur and Leonard Lance and Assemblyman Jay Webber.
Ryan will headline a Lance event in Bridgewater at noon, followed by a rally for Webber in Hanover at 4 PM. The Speaker will appear at a fundraiser for MacArthur tomorrow evening.
This is the second major national Republican leader this week to boost Webber’s bid to succeed retiring Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen in New Jersey’s 11th district. Webber was in Washington on Monday night to attend a fundraiser hosted by Vice President Mike Pence.
“Great night supporting Jay Webber, who will be a strong advocate for the people of New Jersey and Donald Trump’s agenda in Congress,” Pence tweeted last night.
This was Pence’s second fundraiser for Webber, who is locked in a close race with Democrat Mikie Sherrill that is within the margin of error. The vice president came to New Jersey in August to appear at a campaign fundraiser in Morris County.
Lance is also in a race that is too close to call against Democrat Tom Malinowski in the 7th district.
