Anna Magazzu Trapani, who played an active role in Vineland county politics from 1972 to 2009 when her husband was the Vineland Council President and her son was a Cumberland County Freeholder, passed away on October 13. She was 89.
She spent nearly twenty years as a secretary in the law offices of her husband, Joseph Magazzu, who won a Vineland council seat in 1972 and went on to serve as the city solicitor.
Her son, Louis Magazzu, was a force in Cumberland County politics for many years, serving as a freeholder, Democratic County Chairman, and was a candidate for Congress.
During her many years in politics, she was known for hosting house parties for candidates for Governor, U.S. Senate, Congress and local officials.
She was a two-time cancer survivor.
Magazzu is survived by her husband, Joseph Trapani, her sons, Louis and Michael, her step-sons Jeff and Greg, seven grandchildren and a great-grandson.

A funeral mass will be held Friday at 10 AM from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish – Church Of Sacred Heart in Vineland.
