Some Hunterdon Dems want party to unite behind Malinowski

Hunterdon Democrats pick Freeholder candidates

Hunterdon County Democrats will run Rob Darmstadt and Matt Bernot for Freeholder. Darmstadt, a businessman from Tewksbury, lost races for Freeholder in 2012 and 2013. Bernot is young – 22 – and a former Hockey player. Republican Matt Holt is seeking re-election, but the GOP has not yet decided who would run for the seat of retiring Freeholder John King. Malinowski wins Hunterdon convention

Tom Malinowski has won the Hunterdon County Democratic line for U.S. Congress in New Jersey’s seventh district.  He defeated banker Linda Weber by a vote of 96-42, with 25 votes combined for the other candidates at the Democratic convention in Frenchtown this morning. This is the first organizational win for Malinowski, a former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State in the Obama administration.  Weber has the organization lines in Somerset and Essex
