Cotton endorses Sayegh for Paterson Mayor

Paterson City Council President Ruby Cotton has endorsed Andre Sayegh for Mayor of Paterson. Cotton served briefly as acting mayor following the resignation of Joey Torres.  She was replaced by former City Clerk Jane Warren-Williams.  Sayegh was one of the four City Council members who voted to keep Cotton on the job. The election is May 8.

Paterson official considering Freeholder bid

Is Peter Murphy coming back?

In a move that clears that way for Peter Murphy to regain the Passaic County GOP chairmanship, Passaic County Republicans approved a change in the party by-laws that previously blocked his comeback. Mayors push for earned sick day law

A group of North Jersey mayors are expected to call on legislators to pass statewide earned sick day legislation next week. Ras Baraka (Newark), Steven Fulop (Jersey City), Hector Lora (Passaic) Tim Dougherty (Morristown), Robert Jackson (Montclair), and Michael Venezia (Bloomfield)  will speech at a press conference at Newark City Hall on Monday asking the state to follow the lead of their municipalities, which have adopted earned sick day policies.
