Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin will headline a GOTV rally for Morris County Democrats on Friday, November 1 in East Hanover.

Democrats are playing heavily in the Morris-based 25th district, where physician Lisa Bhimani and Wall Streeter-turned-farmer Darcy Draeger are trying to flip to Assembly seats for the first time since 1977.  They are facing State Sen. Anthony M. Bucco (R-Boonton) and Denville Councilman Brian Bergen.

Bucco resigned from the Assembly this week to replace his late father in the State Senate.  If he wins re-election as an assemblyman, Republicans will hold a special election convention in January to replace him.

The hotly contested 21st district Assembly race includes Chatham Borough and Long Hill.  Democrats Lisa Mandelblatt and Stacey Gunderman are looking to take out incumbents Jon Bramnick (R-Westfield) and Nancy Munoz (R-Summit).

Democrats Laura Fortgang and Christine Clarke are seeking to oust Republican incumbents Jay Webber (R-Morris Plains) and BettyLou DeCroce (R-Parsippany) in the 26th district.

Morris County also touches three other legislative districts.

In the 24th, Democrats Deana Lykins and Dan Smith face incumbents Parker Space (R-Wantage) and Hal Wirths (R-Wantage).

In District 27, incumbents John McKeon (D-West Orange) and Mila Jasey (D-South Orange) are seeking re-election.

Democrats Maria Martini Cordonnier and Julie O’Brien face incumbents Christopher DePhillips (R-Wyckoff) and Kevin Rooney (R-Wyckoff) in the 40th district.
