Newly-elected Sussex County Democratic Chairwoman Katie Rotondi today endorsed John Currie for re-election to another term as Democratic State Chairman.
“Democrats across the country have spent the past three years working collaboratively with grassroots supporters to unify our party for the common good of our nation. Here in New Jersey, we have proven what can be accomplished as an organization committed to strong Democratic values,” said Rotondi. “Governor Murphy, Chairman Currie and Vice Chair Peg Schaffer have all played an instrumental role in building stronger and fairer communities for everyone who calls our state home.”
Rotondi, a former Sussex Young Democratic Chair and Hampton council candidate, was elected county chair in June after Leslie Huhn stepped down. Huhn endorsed Currie last December and remains in her post as the Democratic State Committeewoman from Sussex County.
“It would be easy to overlook a rural and red county like ours, but their inclusive leadership has aided in fostering the substantial growth of Democrats in Sussex, and in our ability to elect more Democrats in an area of the state where it is incredibly challenging to do so,” Rotondi said. “I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside them as the Chairwoman of Sussex County Young Democrats and I’m looking forward to supporting them in every way possible as the newly elected Chairwoman of the Sussex County Democratic Committee.”
