Cory Booker leads Donald Trump by five points, 47%-42%, in a new national poll released today by Public Policy Polling (PPP).

Trump is stuck at just 41% or 42% in head-to-head matchups against six other announced or potential candidates.  The president has upside-down approval ratings of 40%-57%.

His best showing comes against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; Pelosi leads Trump by three points, 47%-44%.

The poll has former Vice President Joe Biden ahead 53%-41%,

Bernie Sanders 51%, Trump 41%
Kamala Harris 48%, Trump 41%
Beto O’Rourke 47%, Trump 41%
Elizabeth Warren 48% Trump 42%
Kirsten Gillibrand 47%, Trump 42%

“It really doesn’t matter which Democratic hopeful you test against him right now,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “Voters prefer any of them over Trump at halftime of his Presidency.”

Booker, 49, a former Newark mayor and a U.S. Senator since 2013, is preparing to enter the race for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

Public Policy Polling surveyed 760 registered voters from January 19-21 with a margin of error is +/-3.6%.
