A new Monmouth University poll puts U.S. Senator Cory Booker’s approval ratings among New Jerseyans at 51%-31%.

That represents an increase from 45%-40% in a September 2019 Monmouth Poll conducted while Booker was seeking the Democratic nomination for president.

He is now seeking re-election to the U.S. Senate.

Booker’s high mark came in April 2018, when he was at 54%-31%.

The former Newark mayor is at 67%-17% among Democrats, 40%-36% among independents, and 22%-64% among Republicans.  He’s at 38%-43% among white New Jerseyans, and at 55%-27% among African American, Hispanic and Asian state residents.

Booker is at 49%-30% among women, and 42%-42% among men.

The Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone from April 16-19 with 704 New Jersey adults and has a margin of error of +/- 3.7%.
