Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson) says that Bob Hugin needs to tell New Jerseyans if he supports President Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court.
“Bob Hugin needs to be honest. He needs to tell the people of New Jersey whether he would be a rubber stamp for Republicans’ repeated attempts to stack the courts with right wing extremists like Brett Kavanaugh,” said Pascrell. “In decision after decision, it is clear that Kavanaugh’s record is antithetical to the values of the Garden State.”
Earlier today, Pascrell said that the Senate should reject Kavanaugh’s nomination, calling the U.S. Court of Appeals judge “a career political foot solider.”
“Does Bob Hugin stand with Mitch McConnell? Or does he stand with New Jersey residents who want High Court Justices to protect women’s health care, workers’ rights, access to the ballot box, and not blindly support a President subject to criminal investigation?” Pascrell asked.
