Andy Kim outpaced Rep. Tom MacArthur in fundraising between April 1 and May 16, pre-primary FEC filings show.
Kim raised $255,687.80 over the period, $14,000 of which came from PACs and other candidates, while MacArthur brought in $178,963. A much larger amount, $72,750, of MacArthur’s fundraising came from PACs and other candidates.
MacArthur also outspent Kim, $258,903.46 to $96,953.16. The largest portion of MacArthur’s spending went to an $80,000 ad buy made to Medium Buying LLC. He also paid $33,000 to National Research Inc. for polling.
Meanwhile, the largest portion of Kim’s payments went to campaign staff salaries. He also paid $16,342 to Veracity Media for online advertising and “internet consulting.”
Still, the incumbent goes into the final weeks of the campaign with a fatter war chest. MacArthur has just over $1 million in the bank, while Kim has $971,658.95.
