Though Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River) spent more than any other Republican House candidate in the state, his spending still fell behind that of Rep.-elect Andy Kim (D-Marlton).

MacArthur raised $4,778,480 and spent $4,683,039, according to post-election reports filed with the Federal Elections Commission

He spent $31.24 for each of his 149,500 votes.

Kim raised and spent $6,230,916. That’s $40.60 for each of his 153,473 votes.

Those spending figures do not include independent expenditures made for or against either candidate, nor do they include spending made by candidates’ political action committees.

Kim reported having $71,799 banked at the end of the campaign, while MacArthur had $93,151 left over in his campaign account.
