New Jersey’s special assembly elections will see at least one primary challenge this year.
ShaVonne Honor, a member of the East Rutherford Board of Education, will challenge Clinton Calabrese’s run for his first full term as assemblyman for the 36th legislative district.
Honor, a first-time candidate, said she decided to run to advocate for improvements in the state’s education system, particularly as it relates to children with special needs.
Both candidates filed their nominating petitions a few hours ahead of Monday’s 4 PM deadline.
In the general election, Calabrese will face Mark Marsi of Rutherford, the president of the Hoboken PBA.
You mean in the general election the winner will face Marsi.
