Stepien gets top Trump campaign post

President Donald Trump has a New Jersey native running his campaign.

Trump on Wednesday appointed Bill Stepien, a former top aide to Gov. Chris Christie, to run his campaign, according to a New York Times report.

Stepien, who previously served as White House political director and as senior advisor to Trump, replaced Brad Parscale, who was appointed to manage the president’s campaign in February 2018.

The longtime political strategist managed both of Christie’s gubernatorial campaigns and played a key role in engineering Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s defection to the Republican party.
