Bill Stepien is getting a new position within President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign, the New York Times reported Tuesday.
Stepien, one of Trump’s foremost political advisors, will serve as the president’s deputy campaign manager.
Brad Parscale, who currently helms Trump’s re-election efforts, will stay on as campaign manager.
It’s not immediately clear whether Stepien, once a top official in former Gov. Chris Christie’s campaigns and administrations, will stay on as an advisor to Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis) and House candidate David Richter.
The operative was pivotal in negotiating Richter’s swap to the third congressional district following Van Drew’s defection to the Republican party after losing support among rank-and-file Democrats in the second district over his opposition to impeachment proceedings against Trump.
