More than 3,000 people attended a fundraising event Friday night for the Brian J. Stack Civic Association that included an appearance by Gov. Phil Murphy.
Stack’s non-profit funds a myriad of community organizations in Union City, where Stack is mayor. Last year, the civic group gave away 30,000 turkeys, 2,500 apple pies and held seven luncheons in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The 33rd district, which Stack represents in the State Senate, added 1,674 new voters in October – more than other legislative district in the state. Of those new voters, 37% registered as Democrats and 14% as Republicans.
