The 37th legislative district is getting a runback.
Angela Hendricks and Gino Tessaro will once again challenge Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri Huttle (D-Englewood) and Assemblyman Gordon Johnson (Englewood).
Huttle and Johnson combined for about 75% of the vote against Hendricks and Tessaro in 2017.
The eastern-Bergen district isn’t a friendly one for Republican candidates. Democrats have won the district since Matthew Feldman (D-Teaneck) toppled State Sen. Joseph Woodcock (R-Cliffside Park) in the 1973 Democratic landslide.
Tessaro is a commissioner of the Hackensack Housing Authority and serves as the building inspector for several Bergen County municipalities.
