Two Howell Democrats will clash with two Wall Republicans in the 30th legislative district this year.
Howell Municipal Committeeman Steven Farkas and Jason Celik will challenge Assemblymen Sean Kean and Ned Thomson.
Unlike Farkas, who unsuccessfully ran against Rep. Frank LoBiondo in 2002, Celik is a first-time candidate.
Though, it’s likely his lack of experience won’t make much of a difference. The 30th district is solidly-Republican.
Kean won reelection over Democrat Kevin Scott by almost 15 points in 2017. Thomson beat Eliot Arlo Colon by a little more than 12 points that year.
Democrats haven’t held an Assembly seat there since 1985.
