Assemblywoman DiAnne Gove on Thursday told the New Jersey Globe she has no intention of challenging Rep.-elect Jeff Van Drew in 2020.
“Have I ruled it out? Absolutely,” Gove said. “Trenton is my town.”
Gove has served in the Assembly since former Daniel Van Pelt resigned after being arrested on federal corruption charges.
The assemblywoman intends to continue in that role and will run for re-election in 2019. The ninth legislative district, which Gove represents, is safely Republican.
“I’m happy where I am in the state of New Jersey. I’m happy where I am,” she said. “This is, to me, today, listening to this, trying to help the people of New Jersey is what my focus is.”
