Ashraf Hanna, who challenged State Sen. Joe Cryan in 2017, has set his sights on the 20th legislative district’s Assembly seats this year.
The Republican candidate is making his run in the heavily-Democratic district alongside Charles Donnelly.
Cryan beat Hanna by 67 points in 2017.
The incumbent senator’s Assembly running mates, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and Assemblyman Jamel Holley, collectively won 90% of the vote in the district that year. 2017’s lone Republican Assembly challenger in the district, Joseph Aubourg, won 10% of the vote.
