The Republican Assembly candidates in the 38th district have hired Michael Casey as their field director in a bid to unseat incumbents Lisa Swain (D-Fair Lawn) and Christopher Tully (D-Bergenfield).
Casey, a former Bergen County College Republican Chairman, is the first of several upcoming hires for Rochelle Park Mayor Michael Kazimir and Paramus Councilman Christopher DiPiazza, the campaign said.
“I could not be happier to have Mike on the team in this important role,” said Di Piazza. “Having someone completely up to speed with the district is invaluable at this stage of the campaign.”
The Bergen County-based 38th was once viewed as a battleground legislative district, although despite a couple close calls, Democrats haven’t lost there since 2001.
The 38th has 21,158 more Democrats than Republicans. When the district was redrawn after the 2010 Census, the 38th had a Democratic registration edge of 12,479.
