James Haggerty, who spent 40 years as the Millburn municipal court judge, died on November 10. He was 88. Haggerty served in the U.S. Air Force before attending Seton Hall University and Georgetown Law School.
Nicholas Pappas, a former Old Tappan councilman, passed away on November 9. He was 82. Pappas was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and a former Old Tappan Republican Club president, zoning officer and planning board member.

Nick Pappas was a good man. I worked with him while serving as Municipal Planner for 12 years. Rest In Peace.
