Senate Minority Leader Thomas Kean, Jr. has announced that Kristin Corrado (R-Totowa) is the new Deputy Minority Whip of the New Jersey State Senate.

Corrado will replace Dawn Addiego (D-Evesham), who announced on Monday that she was switching parties and joining the Senate Democratic Caucus.

“Senator Corrado has proven to be an effective and respected leader in our caucus, and I’m proud to expand her role as a member of our Senate Republican leadership team,” Kean said. “Most recently, she has been a courageous and compassionate voice of reason on the special committee investigating the Murphy Administration’s hiring practices.

Corrado is the only woman GOP senator.

“We have a number of challenges ahead of us, but as long as we remain steadfast in our shared commitment to making New Jersey a better place for all, there is no challenge we can’t overcome,” Corrado said. “I am truly grateful for this opportunity.”
