Gregory E. Nagy, who spent nearly 25 years as the legal director for the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission, passed away on January 25.  He was 78.

Nagy was a deputy state attorney general when Lewis Thurston hired him to work at ELEC in 1978.

“I worked along with him for many years and admired him for his professionalism and dedication to the work we do here at ELEC,” said ELEC executive director Jeff Brindle.  “His death is a loss to the state of New Jersey.”

After retiring from state government, Nagy was of counsel at Genova Burns, specializing in corporate political activity and campaign finance law.
