Assemblyman Jay Webber’s campaign spent more money than it took in the second quarter.
Webber’s campaign spent $389,508.85 between April 1 and June 30, while it brought in $339,890.02 over the same period.
While a number of candidates have seen a bump to their fundraising after the conclusion of last month’s primaries, Webber’s numbers remained largely the same, with a difference of a little more than $5,600 between reported receipts in his July and pre-primary filings.
He reported raising $172,768 in the more recent filings, while his pre-primary filings put his receipts for the earlier period at $167,122.02.
On the other hand, his spending has accelerated somewhat in the general election. He spent $226,818.50 in the latter half of the quarter, a notable increase from the $162,690.35 he spent in April and the first half of May.
Webber finished June with $171,720.58 in his war chest. Mikie Sherrill, his Democratic opponent, has roughly $2.9 million on hand.

If Webber sticks to the trump playbook, he will stiff his creditors.
