Pleasantville Mayor Jesse Tweedle endorsed Brigid Harrison Friday.

“Brigid blazed the path, calling out Jeff Van Drew’s immoral stand on impeachment. She pushed him out of the party, and has worked tirelessly to earn support within the second district,” Tweedle said. “I am endorsing Brigid Callahan Harrison because she is the best person for the job.”

Harrison is one of three Democrats in the race for Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s (R-Dennis) seat.

She faces Atlantic County Freeholder Ashley Bennett, who officially launched her campaign in Pleasantville this morning, and West Cape May Commissioner James Francis III.

A fourth Democrat, Amy Kennedy, is exploring a bid.

Endorsements from six of the second district’s eight Democratic County chairs have made Harrison an early frontrunner.

“She will make an excellent congresswoman, and I will work hard here in Pleasantville and throughout Atlantic County to help her get elected,” Tweedle said.
