Former Gov. Chris Christie launched a new independent expenditure group aiming to spend millions on ads for Senate races around the country, according to a Politico report.
The group, Right Direction America, is set to launch ads in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Maine and North Carolina starting Monday.
All six of the states will host competitive Senate races next year.
The former governor told Politico the buys are meant to counter ads aired by billionaire Tom Steyer, who has put roughly $3.5 million on tv spots in states where vulnerable Senate Republicans are defending their seats.
