Republican congressional candidate Brian Fitzherbert has picked up the endorsement of Northfield Mayor Erland Chau in his bid to run against freshman Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-Middle) in 2020.

“I have had the pleasure of getting to know Brian and witnessed his leadership skills growing the Republican Party in Atlantic County and throughout South Jersey. Even more, Brian impressed me by taking his fellow Republicans to a shooting range for an event showing real leadership and commitment to teaching the next generation about the use of firearms and gun safety,” Chau said. “His conservative values and commitment to our community is exactly what we need and that’s why I strongly endorse Brian Fitzherbert for Congress.”

Self-funded David Richter, the former chairman of one of the largest construction companies in the U.S., announced his candidacy yesterday.  Former Trump administration official Robert Patterson is also in the race.
