Tonie Malone, a Seton Hall University ethics professor and a prominent peace and justice advocate, died on August 19. She was 83. Malone was a founding father of New Jersey Pax Christi and served on the Pax Christi USA Council for six years in the 1990s. She was part of the Cry for Social Justice Coalition that monitored human rights abuses in Haiti.
Anthony Ravenda, a former captain with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, died on August 10. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Harold Baylor, a regular attendee at Phillipsburg council and zoning board meetings, died earlier this month. He was 85.
