The Franklin Township Republican Club has endorsed Sam Fiocchi for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 2nd district.

“Due to the fact there is no candidate in the organization’s line on the ballot we discussed the candidates and unanimously voted to endorse Sam Fiocchi,” said Jim Michaelson, the club chairman.  “Sam has served as a Cumberland County freeholder, as an assemblyman and perhaps more importantly he is known to many in our community. He is clearly the best candidate in the field.”

Gloucester County Republicans had voted to award their organization line to Somers Point Councilman James Toto.  But Toto withdrew from the race and party leaders decided not to endorse another candidate.

“I’m thankful for the endorsement from the Franklin Township Republicans,” said Sam Fiocchi, a former Assemblyman. “I have many friends in the area going back to my days in the farm supply business, it’s great to have the support of old friends and the new ones I’ll make going forward through the campaign for the general election.”
