While Trump White House advisor Kellyanne Conway is in Moorestown on Sunday for a $15,000-a-person fundraiser for Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-Toms River), Democratic challenger Andy Kim is hosting an alternate fundraiser a few miles away for just $10-per-person.
Conway’s appearance in New Jersey’s third district appears to have been a fundraising boon to Kim too. His campaign says they raised over $12,000 in just a few hours after the event was announced.
“Washington politicians and corporate interests are rewarding MacArthur after he voted to raise our health care premiums, lower property values and steal tax deductions from middle class New Jersey families,” said Kim, a former Obama White House aide. “Our campaign has pledged to not take a dime from corporate PACs and decided to host our own event to show the power of the grassroots.”
MacArthur turned to the White House before for fundraising help. President Trump appeared at a fundraiser last year for the two-term Congressman at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.
