Source: Menendez raises $1 million

U.S. Senator Bob Menendez raised over $1 million for his re-election campaign tonight, according to a source familiar with the campaign fundraising.

Gov. Phil Murphy and U.S. Sen. Cory Booker were on hand at an event that attracted more than 500 supporters of the senator’s bid for a third term.

Menendez has held a “Night at the Races” event at the Meadowlands racetrack every year since 2002, when he raised money from New Jersey donors to help him win a top spot in the House Democratic leadership.
