U.S. Senator Bob Menendez’s campaign committees have raised nearly $1.8 million in the first quarter of 2018 and has now raised $7.5 million for his re-election campaign.
Menendez has always been a prolific fundraiser and the strong numbers posted during the first three months of the year show him well-positioned for a general election campaign against self-funder Bob Hugin.
He now has $5,347,288 cash-on-hand.
“The strength of the Menendez for Senate campaign is unquestionable,” said campaign chairman Michael Soliman. “Senator Menendez has the support on the ground and the resources in the bank because the people of New Jersey know that he will always have their backs and stand up to the failed policies of the Trump administration.”
This is the second wave of good news for Menendez today. A Monmouth University poll has him ahead by 21 points in a head-to-head matchup with Hugin.
Menendez raised an exact total of $1,799,726.31 this quarter, including $1,489,026.31 for Menendez for Senate campaign, $235,200 by the Menendez Victory Fund, and $75,500 through the New Millennium PAC. The total raised to date is $7,409,182.30.
Hugin has raised about $8 million, which includes $7.5 million of his own money.
