The mayor of Lavallette Borough and five councilmembers endorsed Jack Ciattarelli for governor Thursday.

Lavallette Mayor Walter LaCicero was joined by Council President Anita Zalom and Councilmembers James Borowski, Joanne Filippone, David Finter, and Michael Stogdill in their endorsement of the former assemblyman.

“Jack has always had our back. He fought with us to protect our shore and understands the needs of our residents,” LaCicero said in a release. “It’s about time we had a Republican Governor in Trenton who will work with us to cut taxes, stand with our police, better serve our retirees, and keep our communities safe. Jack Ciattarelli is the man for that job!”

Lavallette is the 23rd most populous of Ocean County’s 33 municipalities. The gubernatorial primaries will be held June 10.

“Looking at the radical crowd of Democrats running for Governor this year, it is more important than ever that Jack lead our party,” the councilmembers said. “Jack has proven that he can unite Republicans and take the fight to the Democrats. We look forward to fighting alongside him for victory in November.”
