Middletown Mayor Tony Perry and the entire leadership of the local Republican party in Monmouth County’s largest municipality has endorsed Jack Ciattarelli in next year’s governor’s race.

“Every day, I hear from Middletown residents who are sick and tired of Democrats in Trenton making New Jersey more expensive and less safe,” said Perry. “Jack Ciattarelli is the fighter we need in Trenton to fix all that.”

Joining Perry in supporting Ciattarelli are Deputy Mayor Rick Hibell, Township Committeemen Ryan Clarke and Kevin Settembrino, Township Committeewoman Kimberly Kratz, and longtime GOP Municipal Chairman Peter Carton.

“Jack stood with us in Middletown in our fight against rising car thefts, and will end bail reform’s catch and release policies as Governor. Jack joined our Board of Education on the courthouse steps to fight in defense of the rights of parents and will appoint an Attorney General who protects those rights,” Perry stated.  “He’s been here as we provided tax relief to our volunteer first responders and, as our Governor, Jack will cut property taxes across the board once and for all.”

Perry also took a shot at one of Ciattarelli’s primary rivals, NJ 101.5 radio host Bill Spadea.

“We know that this campaign isn’t about him, or just BS for a radio show audience and a paycheck,” he said. “Jack is in this fight for us and will deliver real results. He has our full support.”

Middletown is the 16th largest municipality in New Jersey and a Republican stronghold. It is also the hometown of Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy.

Ciattarelli carried Middletown by a 49%-31% margin in a four-candidate field in the 2021 Republican primary and beat Murphy by an 8 246-vote margin, 64%-35%, in the general election.

Middletown made up 14.4% of the total votes cast in Monmouth County in the last statewide primary.

Donald Trump won Middletown by a 58%-39% margin last month.
