By David Wildstein, May 17 2018 2:23 pm

Mountainside Police Chief Allan Attanasio, who has emerged as a central figure in a lawsuit alleging widespread harassment and racism in the local police department, has been placed on administrative lead, according to an official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

A letter sent to parents from Dr. Nancy Lubarsky, the chief school administrator, says that Lt. Joseph Giannuzzi is serving as the acting police chief.  Lubarsky says that she has been assured that none of the police officers named in the complaint will perform services for the local school system.
