A lunch yesterday between Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise and Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla closed the deal on a peace treaty between the two, according to aides to both Hudson Democratic elected officials.
Bhalla had been one of four mayors who earlier this year publicly opposed DeGise for re-election when his term comes up in 2019, and backed Union City Mayor/State Sen. Brian Stack for Hudson County Democratic Chairman against DeGise’s daughter, Amy.
Stack and Bhalla are now solidly on the DeGise team, with Hudson Democrats now mostly united.
Not part of the deal is Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop.
