Nick Iacovella, who served as press secretary for Bob Hugin’s 2018 U.S. Senate race, has joined the Washington staff of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio.

He will serve as Rubio’s spokesman on domestic and national issues.

Prior to working for Hugin, Iacovella was the assistant director of government relations for Heritage Action for America, and on the staff of Rep. Scott Garrett (R-Wantage).

Here’s what the New Jersey Globe had to say about him as one of the rising stars of 2018: “(He) was a pit bull when it came to attacking Bob Menendez. That’s meant as a compliment. He was always working, and always on message. Don’t expect to see the Florida native back in Blue Jersey anytime soon; this guy was built for a red state.”
