Republican countywide candidates in Ocean will easily win re-election over Democratic challengers, the New Jersey Globe projects.
Republican Freeholder Joe Vicari is projected to defeat challenger Helen Dela Cruz. County Clerk Scott Colabella is on track to bat aside a challenge from Democrat Kathy Russell.
The victories are no surprise. Ocean County is the staunchest Republican stronghold in the state. They’ve won every countywide race here for 30 years.
There are 59,321 more Republicans than Democrats in Ocean, the widest Republican-advantaged gap in the state.
