Ocean’s countywide Republicans back Singh

Ocean County’s Republican officials holding countywide office endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Hirsh Singh Wednesday.

Freeholders John Kelly, Ginny Haines, Joseph Vicari, Gerry Little and Gary Quinn, Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy and Ocean County Clerk Scott Colabella backed Singh, giving the candidate their stamp of approval days after his victory before the Ocean County Republican Committee.

“Singh has been to almost every significant event in Ocean County and has been dedicated to our organization for years, I am proud to endorse and support him,” Colabella said.

Singh has already been endorsed by Ocean Republican Chairman Frank Holman.

His chief opponent in the race for the GOP nod is Rik Mehta, who has the line in most of New Jersey’s counties.

“Singh is the future of the Republican Party,” said Haines, who is a member of the Republican National Committee.
