Gov. Phil Murphy attended the Middlesex County Democratic reorganization to pay homage to Kevin McCabe, who was re-elected without opposition.
“Under Chairman McCabe’s leadership, Middlesex Democrats have reached new heights – winning local races, growing the party, and connecting with communities from the ground up,” said Murphy. “I congratulate Chairman McCabe and Vice Chair Moskowitz on their continued leadership of the MCDO, and look forward to working in close partnership with them, Speaker Coughlin, and all Middlesex Dems to build a stronger and fairer New Jersey for all,” said Governor Murphy.
Democrats hold every elected county government post in Middlesex and have one of the most powerful legislative delegations, including the Assembly Speaker and four state senators.
“When I became Chairman, I promised you this: I would never put anyone’s interests, including my own, ahead of what is best for our part,” McCabe said.. “All of these efforts are also a vehicle to ensure that we protect the legislative gains we made in 2017, and send even more Democrats to the legislature in 2019.”
