Calabrese wins special election

Assemblyman Clinton Calabrese defeated Republican challenger Marc Marsi and will serve out the remaining year of Marlene Caride, who is now head of the state’s Department of Banking and Insurance.

Calabrese beat Marsi by 28 points, 64%-26%.

The assemblyman secured 33,436 votes, while 19,149 cast ballots for Marsi.
