Matawan Democrats hold Council seats

Matawan Democrats still have all seven of the town’s Council seats after Tuesday’s election.

Democrats Nicolas Reeve and David Vergaretti won the race with 27% of the votes each. Reeve got 1,785 votes, five more than Vergaretti.

Republican candidates Frank Whalen and Anissa Esposito got each got 23% of the votes. Whalen had 1,528 ballots cast in his favor. Esposito received 1,517 votes.
