New Milford Councilwoman Kelly Langschultz will not be a candidate for Bergen County Republican Chairman, according to a source familiar with Langschultz’s plans but not authorized to speak on the record.
Langschultz was the Republican nominee for State Senator in 2017, but lost to incumbent Bob Gordon. Gordon is expected to step down as from the Senate to take a seat on the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities.
Incumbent Paul DiGaetano is not expected to seek re-election to a second term as county chairman. InsiderNJ has reported that Fernando Alonso has decided not to seek the post, leaving former Hackensack Mayor Jack Zisa, a DiGaetano ally, unopposed for the post at this time.
