Newly-elected Bergen County Democratic Chairman Paul Juliano has endorsed Cory Booker for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Booker now has the backing of all 21 Democratic county chairs in his home state of New Jersey.
Juliano and Booker met for lunch today at Patsy’s in Fairview, where a commitment of support was made, sources familiar with the conversation told the New Jersey Globe.
Booker was initially endorsed by all 21 county chairs last February, but since then two of the chairs have left office.
Juliano won a special election in July to replace Louis Stellato, who resigned to become a commissioner of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority.
Sussex County Democratic Chairwoman Leslie Huhn did not seek re-election in June. Her successor, Katie Rotondi, announced her endorsement of Booker earlier this month.
Two of the candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for president grew up in Bergen County.
Booker is from Harrington Park and former Rep. John Delaney (D-Maryland) is from Wood-Ridge.
