Hunterdon County Freeholder Director Shaun Van Doren will likely defeat Democratic challenger Patrick Heller to win a second term, the New Jersey Globe projects.
Van Doren’s victory over Heller, a political newcomer, is unsurprising. But, results are not yet final, and former Vice President Joe Biden is leading in the county.
Republicans hold every countywide post there and have a 12,549-voter registration advantage. The lead is significant given only 104,620 are registered to vote in the county.
