Bradley Beach council race too close to call

The non-partisan race for Bradley Beach Mayor is too close to call.

Larry Fox leads Councilman Al Gubitosi 641 votes to 593 votes.

They’re running to replace Mayor Gary Engelstad, who did not seek re-election.

Gubitosi had some high-profile bipartisan backers. State Sen. Vin Gopal (D-Long Branch) and Bradley Beach Republican Chairman Eric Blomgren endorsed him in a joint letter. Fox had the support of Assemblyman Sean Kean (R-Wall).

Gubitosi ran under the slogan “Experience, Trust, Transparency,” while Fox used “Dedicated to the Bradley Beach’s Future.
