Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarbiera was re-elected to a second term, defeating Republican councilwoman Jeanne Weber by 60%-40% margin.

LaBarbiera, a Democrat, beat Weber by 1,901 votes, 5,559 to 3,658 in a town of roughly 26,000 that has been a swing town for the last fifty years.

The Democratic council incumbents, Holly Tedesco-Santos and Pat Verile, were also re-elected against Republican  challengers Jorge Quintana and Mohammed Reda.

LaBarbiera backed Gov. Phil Murphy early in his 2017 campaign.  The governor spent the final day of the campaign with LaBarbiera in Paramus.
