Atlantic County Republicans have cancelled their convention in response to the coronavirus pandemic and instead will hold a meeting of 23 municipal leaders to award their organization line.
“That’s the most prudent course given the circumstances,” said GOP county chairman Keith Davis.
Davis told the New Jersey Globe that he’s asked local leaders to consult with the delegates from their municipalities and said he’s hoping to broadcast the smaller meeting on Facebook Live so that other Atlantic Republicans can watch.
The candidates for the GOP U.S. Senate nomination will be invited to attend the leadership meeting and make their pitch, Davis said, along with Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis), Surrogate James Curcio, and candidates for freeholder.
