Kennedy will pause public campaign events

Amy Kennedy has announced that her campaign for the Democratic congressional nomination in New Jersey’s 2nd district is pausing all public events, including fundraisers, as the state deals with the effects of the coronavirus epidemic.

“The Coronavirus is a crisis of national and global scale, and it demands bold leadership in response,” said Kennedy, who said her decision was made “out of an abundance of caution to protect our supporters and help contain this virus.”

Kennedy said she will “be campaigning in a very different way moving forward.”

She said specifics of her activities will be announced soon.

“Please be sure to make you and your family’s health your immediate priority in the coming days and weeks,” Kennedy said. “Politics can wait for a few days while we come together to take care of one another. That is the kind of South Jersey values our campaign is all about.”
