GOP U.S. Senate candidate takes 4th organization line

Hirsh Singh won the Republican organization line in Atlantic County this morning, giving him his fourth organization line in his bid to challenge U.S. Senator Cory Booker.

Singh defeated Rik Mehta by a 588 to 505 votes, a 54%-46% victory to gain the endorsement of his home county.

Mehta has won GOP county endorsements from Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Passaic,  Salem, Somerset, Union and Warren counties. counties.

Singh has the line in Ocean, Cape May and Cumberland counties.

Atlantic County Republican chairman Keith Davis had cancelled the GOP convention in response to the coronavirus pandemic and instead held a of 23 municipal leaders to award their organization line.  Those leaders cast votes on behalf of their municipalities.
